Taddinam Puja holds a lot of significance as per Hindu beliefs. Hindu scriptures like the Agni Puran, Garuda Puran and Vayu Puran have explained the significance of “Shradh” in great length. Taddinam Puja is believed that the God of Death Yama himself explained the importance of Shradh performed on Pitri Paksha. The performance of Shraddha by a son during Pitru Paksha is regarded as compulsory by Hindus, to ensure that the soul of the ancestor goes to heaven.
