Munj Ceremony is performed at the age of 7 at that time the child is ready for schooling, at that time parents conduct this ceremony and send their child to Veda Patashala. Wearing Sacred thread on Munj Ceremony is also called as Brahma Upadesham and preparing his child to enter the Gurukula. In Upanayanam you will know about the Gayatri Mantra from your 1 st Guru i.e., is Your father. It is chanted at least twice a day.
